Amazon Japan is listing the release of Silver Spoon volume 8 for July 11th. It will presumably contain chapters 62 through 70 and cost 440 JPY. ISBN number is 9784091243461, in case you want to order it at some local shop.
There’s still no cover available, but you can already pre-order the volume.

The June issue of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shounen Magazine is announcing on Thursday that manga artist Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Silver Spoon) is drawing an adaptation of The Heroic Legend of Arslan (Arslan Senki), the acclaimed fantasy novel series by Yoshiki Tanaka (Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Sohryuden - Legend of the Dragon Kings, Tytania). The manga series will launch in the magazine’s August issue on July 9.

Shounen Sunday is on a break next week, so chapter 74 will be in issue 23, out May 8th.

The new Oricon chart is out and Silver Spoon again managed to reach first place with 370,676 units sold of the regular edition in its first week.
The limited edition of the book (which includes a Yezo Agricultural High School student handbook) can also be found at sixth place, with 103,365 units sold. That makes a grand total of 474,041 copies, which is a new record for the series!

According to its official website, Arakawa is drawing an original furoku poster in the next issue of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. It’ll be her first contribution for this publication.
It’s likely that her illustration won’t be Fullmetal Alchemist or Silver Spoon related, since their rights belong to Square-Enix and Shogakukan respectively. Issue 6 (which contains the poster) will be out on May 9th.
