Sangokushi Spirits exclusive GameCity goods
Sangokushi Spirits, a two-part essay manga discussing the Romance of the Three Kingdoms Chinese classic novel in which Arakawa draws 4-koma strips and Tokou Jun writes a commentary, was released on March 28th. GameCity Online Shop is including a rubber strap designed by Arakawa with a limited edition of the books, plus two different bookmarks with the cover illustrations.

Possible Silver Spoon anime planned?
Moe Ota-News SokuhÅ is reporting that the latest issue of Japanese manga critique magazine Da Vinci mentions that the latest Manga Taishou award winner, Arakawa Hiromu’s Silver Spoon, “seems to have anime adaptation plans” - just like previous winners Chihayafuru and Thermae Romae have had.

Silver Spoon wins 2012 Manga Taishou Awards
The results of the 2012 Manga Taishou Awards were announced today with Arakawa Hiromu’s Silver Spoon winning first prize. She beat other works such as Dai Tokyo Toybox by Ume, Nobunaga Concerto by Ishii Ayumi and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinchuu by Kumota Haruko.

Limited Edition silver spoon box
Amazon Japan has a picture of the box that will apparently contain the silver spoon which will be an extra in the limited edition of Silver Spoon volume 3. As you can see it’ll be decorated with the Yezo Agricultural High School emblem. As additional info, it seems like the spoon has been made under Arakawa’s supervision and will have a little calf engraved on it!

Silver Spoon volume 3 limited edition
A limited edition of Silver Spoon volume 3 is now listed at Amazon Japan and will include an actual silver spoon along with the book. It’ll cost 860 JPY, as opposed to the 440 JPY of the regular edition, and it’ll be released on the same day, April 18th.

Silver Spoon wins 3rd Booklog Awards
Arakawa Hiromu’s latest manga Silver Spoon was just awarded Best Manga in the 3rd Booklog Awards, chosen before other nominated mangas such as Umino Chika’s Spica, Hirano Kouta’s Drifters, Robiko’s Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and Yamashita Tomoko’s BUTTER!!!, among others.
